These are some of the children and families benefitting from Ray of Light. Ray of Light ensures that the children get to school in a clean uniform and shoes, have at least one good meal a day and supports carers and families to provide a stable environment.
Munashe had no official identity, was under nourished and had never been to school when ROL took him on. Munashe is now his school's champion athlete and is competing with success all over Zimbabwe. His success has resulted in his being issued with a birth certificate by the Zimbabwean government.
Batiraishe lives with her mother. Her father died when she was an infant and her mother has struggled with ill health, making it impossible for Batiraishe to go to school. Batiraishe is so happy to be at school now, thanks to Ray of Light!

Natasha is a double orphaned child who lives with her grandmother in a makeshift house. Before Natasha came to Ray of Light the family was always hungry and Natasha lost a younger brother after he ate poisonous mushrooms. Now Natasha is at school and has great enthusiasm to work hard and succeed.
Sean and his three siblings live with their mother who is frequently sick. Sean’s elder sister, who should be in school, looks after the family and sells vegetables to raise money. Sean is an intelligent boy and, thanks to Ray of Light, is now enjoying school.
Children who have never had the opportunity to go to school are transforming their lives with the help of Ray of Light. For the first time they have a stable environment, a school uniform, shoes and someone to turn to if life seems overwhelming.
